Join us 9/10/12 to End Suicide for US Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel.

Why:

We lose 18 veterans every single day to suicide. Out of the 30,000 U.S. suicides every year, 20% of those are by veterans. We spend over 6 billion dollars a year tackling the issue, with little collaboration between resources. It is TIME we all join together to support our veterans and active military duty.

What:

  • A press conference and march on the capital, with all groups interested in preventing suicides in the military.
  • A 3-day training in Washington DC at the Hyatt for becoming an online crisis support counselor for IMAlive, the first 24-hour online crisis center.
  • A lighting of porches, buildings, and businesses yellow on World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th, for a Global Night for Hope honoring those in the military we have lost to suicide.

Where:

All events are taking place in Washington DC from September 9-11, and the march is on September 10th.

Who:

Serendipity, Blue Star Families, Operation 2nd Chance, Kristin Brooks Hope Center (KBHC), PostSecret.com, iFred, and members of Congress on both the Senate and House Committees for Veterans Affairs and Armed Services.
